Community & Civics: Real People, Real Stories, Real Conversations
February 16, 2026
6:00 pm - 7:30 pmA monthly, nonpartisan community conversation series hosted by Eryn Ross
Community & Civics is a monthly public gathering designed to bring people together for respectful, informed, human-centered conversations about democracy, civic engagement, and lived reminder: behind every policy are real people with real stories.
Each session combines an educator’s perspective (history/civics), community voices, and facilitated discussion. The goal is not debate — it’s understanding, critical thinking, and connection across differences.
These events are intentionally nonpartisan and grounded in curiosity, empathy, and civil dialogue.
Purpose
- Create a safe, welcoming space for real-world civic learning
- Encourage critical thinking and respectful disagreement
- Share lived experiences (immigration, voting, community leadership, etc.)
- Help students and adults better understand how government works locally and nationally
- Model what healthy democracy looks like in practice
- Strengthen community connection through conversation
